More specifically, is it (much?) easier to handle content models like <Section> <Title>...</Title> <Body>blablabla...</Body> </Section> than <Section> <Title>...</Title> blablabla... </Section> (ie the first example disallows mixed content directly inside the Section) In the first variant, one can select the Title, and process it. Then select the Body, and process it. In the second variant, does one have to change the processing "mindset" a bit, by first selecting the Title, and then process the whole content of Section (and ignoring the Title during this processing)? Is this so much more work (or the solution less extensible) that one should rather disallow mixed content directly inside <Section>, by forcing it into a special subelement?
