I'm rather sorry about the Morse Code joke, it was Friday, after all . ..

And now my karma comes back to me as I have to ask a newbie-like question
coupled with a "could someone tell me again, I lost the last answer"-

<snip>
First, looking at XT, from J. Clark's page I note the follwoing:
Alternatively under Windows you can use XT packaged as a Win32 executable.
This includes XP and SAX. To use this, you will need to
have the Microsoft Java VM installed (this is included with IE). Run this
with the command:

xt source stylesheet result name=value...
</snip>

In E. R. Harold's XML Bible, I did not notice any mention of the
"name=value..." part on p. 441 re. using XT with IE 5. As I'm not yet
overly Java savvy, it's important I be able to start practicing XSLT wiht
IE5 as the various pieces and Classpath materials for doing XT without IE5
would truly tax this list with tedious questions. At any rate, I'm not
sure what to put for the name=value argument.

Perhaps htis is related, then, as I'd had an error
"java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: c" error when I worked
wiht the prev. version of XT-- perhaps that will also be solved by my
working with the new dispensation (I could have been mixing versions,
please let me know if that's not the case with this error).

Second, I know someone wrote me indicating how I could do a match based
upon a particular attribute value -- e.g., I have a whole bunch of
elements <data></data>-- in which there are some as <data type="189"> and
some that are <data type="213">-- if I want to only transform those
elements with the "type" attribute value set at "213", what is the
specific syntax with the @ (I assume, though I'm only familiar with @
to select the attribute name) that I use for slecting an element based on
a specific non-ID attribute value? I recall that it used @ and value-of
in teh previous answer soemone sent, and with apologies if that person's
reading, I would deeply appreciate a repeat.

Thanks in advance,

jr
