No, sorry, there's a gap in SAXON functionality here. HTML output is handled
exactly the same as XML output as far as character coding is concerned:
ASCII characters are output as-is, non-ASCII characters are output as a
numeric character entity. I know this is inadequate, I'm thinking about the
best way of tackling it. Various users have been in touch with suggestions.
Producing HTML 4.0 is straightforward enough, but earlier versions seem to
be rather a mess in this area.
