> > So, my question is: how do I get XT to output the correct character, > and, is there a way to get SAXON to output normalized HTML for such > characters? > No, sorry, there's a gap in SAXON functionality here. HTML output is handled exactly the same as XML output as far as character coding is concerned: ASCII characters are output as-is, non-ASCII characters are output as a numeric character entity. I know this is inadequate, I'm thinking about the best way of tackling it. Various users have been in touch with suggestions. Producing HTML 4.0 is straightforward enough, but earlier versions seem to be rather a mess in this area. Mike Kay PS: about to go on holiday, don't expect any SAXON advice & guidance over the next couple of weeks. XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
