Hi.

We sort of got a heads-up that this was comming the other day in the middle
of a thread discussing just this move.

I realise that others have a different view, but my limited understanding
of the issues so far leads me to think of it as a "good thing". Essentialy
both expressions are saying "that/those bit(s) there".

There is another bit of surprise within the XSLT spec itself.
"The XSL WG and the XML Linking WG have agreed to unify XSLT expressions
and
XPointers [XPointer]. A common core semantic model for querying has been
agreed upon, and this draft follows this model (see [6.1 Location Paths]).
However, further changes particularily in the syntax will probably be
necessary."
