Re: GOTCHA!
Hi.

Granted, reading back over my post it does start like the beginnings of a
conspiracy theory (what can I say, I'm having a hard day and feel conspired
against :)

To reply to your further mitigations of the W3C, I am aware that some
really good work can come out of the W3C umbrella, it does however appear
that the industry is starting to fracture. Just a subjective impression,
and in the end I might well end up proven wrong.

What I am also expressing (and believe I am not alone in this), is that I
feel that for quite a considerable period of time a lot of developers will
be concerned with XML -> dHTML transformations using XSL (or indeed some
related incarnation called XTL), and this need doesn't seem to be even
acknowledge as valid, let alone addressed.

The suggestion of Mafia may indeed be an unfair one, as it would imply that
the W3C where actively working against my interests. The suggestion of an
Ivory Tower however might be argued to be more valid as it would imply that
the W3C where working despite my interests.

I would further suggest (as I have before), that if the W3C dosn't address
the needs of the Web designer, then the likes of MS are likely to with
their own implimentation of XSL (XTL). We've been here before.

All very subjective I know, but hey, I get emotive about some subjects :)

Cheers
     Guy.

In my limited experience (as an invited member on the W3C Math working
group) That's not how things work. There is not a global `W3C Mafia'
with a secret agenda to design unusable languages.
