db is not Saxon specific, it is 1.0 specific and works with most, of
the commonly used 1.0 engines
I think the problem is that docbook-for-xslt-20 is a big project and has
been moving forward slowly for a long time, but there's very little that
will stop docbook-for-xslt-10 working with a 2.0 engine other than one
or two places like this, which are easily fixed.
