Does that answer your question?
The order in which the documents are read may be OS-specific, so you
might want to sort the documents in a wildcard collection by some
criterion such as the base name.
And the semantics of the select argument is implementation-dependent.

Searching the web for this turns out to be a little tricky, since
there are many results on 'document', 'xslt' and 'wildcard', but
completely unrelated to this type of problem.
