O'Reilly Media were kind enough to let me re-publish "How XSLT Works"
(chapter 3 of XSLT 1.0 Pocket Reference) as a web page (not just PDF).
It contains a concise, prose description of XSLT 1.0's processing model,
including link-able sections.
