David Thanks for responding. I'm new to XSLT I'm still weak with XPath Could you help explain why with this below, I get 0 count(document($currentJTL_cifo)/testResults/*[@label = current()/@label][attribute::label='Client Init'])" /> while count(document($currentJTL_cifota)/testResults/*[attribute::label='Client Init'])" /> gives me the answer I want. The input xml structure is this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <testResults version="1.2"> <sampleResult timeStamp="1205507229423" dataType="text" threadName="Ni" label="Client Init" time="2133" responseMessage="OK" responseCode="200" success="true"/> <sampleResult timeStamp="1205507229265" dataType="text" threadName="Mo" label="Client Init" time="2345" responseMessage="OK" responseCode="200" success="true"/> </testResults> On Thu, Mar 27, 2008 at 8:17 AM, David Carlisle <davidc@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > <xsl:template name="cur_time_duration_cifo"> > since you don't show that we can's comment on it. > > > <xsl:with-param name="value"/> > > > that sets the parameter to the empty string so when you go > <xsl:value-of select="$value"/> > you get nothing. > > perhaps you intended > > <xsl:with-param name="value" select="$value"/> > > but given no source document or indication of what transform you are > intending, it is hard to guess. > > David
