  There is no reason to not apply template to the nodes before the
first W:P (for instance text nodes part of the indentation).  So you
should replace "w:p[1]" by "node()[1]".  That's more in accordance to
the modified identity pattern: specific handling logic is better put in
match pattern than in select attributes.
