[XSL-LIST Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] Re: Variables in XSLT
sorry you lost me, go back to first principles.
All the talk of variables is probably just a distraction (people coming
from other languages often expect to use variables when none are
needed).
Post a complete (small) xml input and a complete (small) required
output, then someone (maybe me, but I'm about to go home) will no doubt
suggest some code that gets from one to the other.
having said that, perhaps you just want the URL from the VNDR_URL that
has the last EFFDT
That would be
<xsl:template match="VNDR_LOC_SCROL">
<xsl:for-each select="VENDOR_LOC">
<xsl:sort select="VNDR_URL/EFFDT"/>
<xsl:if test="position()=last()">
<HOMEPAGE><xsl:value-of select="VNDR_URL/URL" /></HOMEPAGE>
</xsl:if>
</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:template>
Or something...
David
