simple letter format for children
just replace
            <xsl:apply-templates select="/stdLetter/title"/>
            <xsl:apply-templates select="/stdLetter/para"/>
            <xsl:apply-templates select="/stdLetter/signature"/>

by

            <xsl:apply-templates select="/stdLetter/*"/>

and it will work, although

<xsl:template match="bullet">
<ul>
   <li><xsl:value-of select="."/></li>
</ul>

makes a separate list (of one item) for each bullet.

  <p><xsl:value-of select="."/>
  ? how to drop child bullets here ?

you want the list outside the p not inside 9otherwise teh generated html
will be invalid)

If you want to collect up adjacent bullet elements into a single list
then see the faq or jeni's site on grouping.

David
