Probably you can write an extension function in Java using
java.io.File class to get the file size. I can see a method called
public long length() in JDK docs (j2sdk1.4.2_03)..
The documentation says:
Returns:
The length, in bytes, of the file denoted by this abstract pathname,
or 0L if the file does not exist
