Node-set() is just a function that allows you to convert Result Tree
Fragment from your template output into usable/parsable
sub-tree(node-set) (Which is not possible in XSLT by default). When you
load an XML with document() - you already have a sub-tree (node-set)
This is correct, but the document() function works like this in unextended
XSLT 1.0, and thus in all conformant processors. Using the node-set()
extension function locks you into processors and architectures that support
it, and thus hinders reusability and portability.
Maybe I misunderstood your point?
