Hi, That's a LARGE question. I'm sure the big guns on the list can offer more, but I can tell you a few optimization tips: * Avoid //. Use the full path instead, if possible. * Use keys where appropriate. * Put amounts that need to be calculated just once but need to be used many times in variables. (That came up in a different discussion about some of my code yesterday, in fact.) I highly recommend Dave Pawson's FAQ: http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect4/N9883.html I'm sure we can help you optimize much more if you post your stylesheet (or the chunks of it you most want to optimize). As for your last question, if you want output to the command line, you can put <xsl:message>Loading data, please wait...</xsl:message> within your templates. If you want that message to go to a web page or something other than a command line, you'll need to do it from some other point in your process. Some questions... - What are the steps to get a lightweight transformation? - What to check in XSL file? - Is there any way to make a "Loading data, please wait..." instruction while Sablotron is working? Any tip to accelerate the load process is highly appreciated. Greetings.
