well node-set() is an extension function so in a way it doesn't fit, but
if you mean the behaviour of keys, that follows from the XSLt1 rec and
the fact that in all implementations node-set returns a root node, so
the resulting nodes are all in a new document rooted at this node, just
as if document() had been used. the behaviour of key() follows from
this.
