RE: XSLT 2.0 *and* XSLT 1.0 validation -- how to?

In summary, any element in a 2.0 stylesheet can have some
sort of versioning attribute, and with forward compatibility,
that version could stretch from 1.0 2.0 through to n.m
   Is this meeting some sort of requirement, or .... something else?

Does anyone on this list *use* these attributes?


Anyone else think this is a bit of a mess?
