So, sometimes they say that, in the above case, it ought to be collapsed to 7777-8, while in other cases 7777-78. I'm happy to just get one of them correctly working for the time being though! I had implemented a hack that just compared the substrings, but I'll try the more general solutions posted here. Thanks all! Bruce
