I'm a bit confused though because Miva corporation touts on their web site

a connection between XSLT and Miva Script. Is Miva Script then not at all
based on XML?

Your supposition and subsequent question are illogical. Just because Miva Script is XML based does not mean it has any relationship to XSLT. Just because it has no relationship to XSLT does not mean it is not XML based.
