Re: Parser Used by XALAN XSLT
> Can any body tell me which Parser XALAN uses? > Whether it is the DOM Parser or SAX Parser. Depends on how you invoke Xalan. Xalan-J can process from a DOMSource or SAXSource, in which cases you're providing the parser and we just operate on its output. Or we can process from a StreamSource, in which case we ask JAXP for a SAX parser. In general, we can access the source document most efficiently if we're receiving it via SAX, since that lets us build our own custom data model rather than having to adapt a DOM into our system. (Reminder: Apache maintains its own mailing lists for Xalan users and developers, which may be a better place to ask Xalan-specific questions ... though I try to keep an eye on this list too as time permits.) ______________________________________ Joe Kesselman, IBM Next-Generation Web Technologies: XML, XSL and more.
