Is there a XPath expression that while I am traversing my nested xml input file I can determine how many OBJECT elements exist between each <TABLE> </TABLE> structure or <DPROW></DPROW>. With the nesting structure of my xml input file I can have tables nested within dprows and objects within each of those dprows.

What is (or are) the context node(s) relative to which your XPath expression must be evaluated?

If you don't have a ready answer to this, I suggest you do some reading and homework on the XSLT processing model and how XPath works within it. Any decent book on the subject will cover it. Or Google for "context node".
