@id >= number(../paging/window) you don't need number() there as > will coerce its arguments to be numeric automatically. Most likely it is the wrong path. the above would work if paging is a sibling of ROW and has a child called window, but I suspect that ROW and paging are not children of the same parent, so the xpath selects nothing.
