Michael,

That's because.... ' is replaced by the single-quote-character BEFORE
the xpath is evaluated???

Assuming you did not want to make the cheesey quot and apos variables, is
there some syntax to do the translate?

???	<xsl:value-of select="translate(@defaultValue,'&quot;',\"&apos;\")"
/>		???
???	<xsl:value-of select="translate(@defaultValue,'&quot;','\'')" />
???
???	<xsl:value-of
select="translate(@defaultValue,'&quot;','&amp;apos;')" />	???

Shouldn't there be??
