You will have to describe what you are trying to do further.
If you are trying to pass a variable from JavaScript to XSLT *before*
the transformation, a global xsl:param may be what you want. Both IE and
Mozilla support this from script. A cross-browser way of doing this
on the client is Sarissa, described at
http://sarissa.sourceforge.net/
