Thank you *very* much. Your example of consolidation of all events of
italicization into one template is going to be extremely useful in my
style sheet, because I have similar structures in place for tags such as
<foreign>, <emph> etc. I'll probably need to play with this a bit to get
the hang of it, but I'll let you know how I make out.
