RE: Extracting values from the XML data source

Thanks for all the suggestions I have found the solution I was after.
I had the basic idea but my XPATH was incorrect:

 <xsl:variable name="x" select="RETAILER_STATEMENT/STATEMENT_HEADER/out"/>
