RE: Validating and Viewing XSL-FO Output

Try it with a couple of xsl-fo engines.
RenderX do have a DTD which works in most cases but is not
perfect (there is no formal DTD or schema for XSL-FO)/



 and view the document. 

It needs processing using fop.
  See the fop documentation for how to do that.
It will produce the pdf from the xsl-fo.

So the end to end is

xml->xslt->xsl:fo->fop->pdf.
