Hi I don't know if this can be considered wacky but... Take a look at http://www.incrementaldevelopment.com/xsltrick/aufgang/ and see the Sierpinsky triangle creation with xslt, or at http://www.pinkjuice.com/svg/XSLT/fractals/ that has good examples in creating fractals with xslt.
