I'm using this techniques a lot since we have implemented a transformation engine that
among others handles subtrees individually. If anyone has a better solution (faster) please
let me know!

Additional info on that engine can be found in: http://www2003.org/cdrom/papers/poster/p108/p108-Pediaditakis.html

if someone wants to try it you can always mail me for the (java) binary
(the src is not yet available because:
- it's not finished
- we have to resolve the copyright issues with the uni (I want it open source... but we'll see what I'll get)

Mike.
