In .net you would use an XmlDocument:
(c# code)
XmlDocument mydoc = new XmlDocument();
mydoc.load("mydoc.xml");
if (mydoc.SelectSingleNode("/somepath/@someattribute/text()") == "y")
....
Else
...
Get your programmer to look into the Xml namespace

Subject: Using XSLT within VB.net?
I'm working with a programmer who is using VB.net (I'm working on the
XML/XSL portion) to create interactive work instructions including events
such as on-click save xml to database (still working on figuring out best
way to design/use xml db), more importantly, we need to include business
logic (e.g., if X=false do A, otherwise do B. Some of this business logic
data will be from within the XML instance (data collection, checkboxes),
other data will be from external databases in other mfg systems.
So far, I've created (with this group's help!...thank you again) an xml/xsl
form including some (as yet inactive) submit buttons, data collection
fields, etc.
My question (and if I am in the wrong place...please just say so):
In general, how does one incorporate the use of an XML/XSLT instance WITHIN
.net? Can the xml doc be defined as an Object that you then refer to as a
source?
I certainly don't expect a .net lession, perhaps just some understanding of
how xml (e.g., an xml work instruction doc) or some reading material
pointers.
Thanks. Kathy
