So I'm for a way to clear that up.
if your id attribute is of type ID then the space will be ignored by an
XML parser anyway so wouldn't be seen when the file was processed,
however to get rid of the space you could
report a bug to your processor implementor and get it fixed or
use a different processor or use
id="m.{normalize-space($id)}"
