Construct your template so that the last node in the node-list doesn't output the comma, thus:
<xsl:template match="//node">
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="position() = last()">
<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>,
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:template>
