...oops, I clicked "Send" on that previous note instead of "Save" (the
lights here dimmed, it looked like we were about to lose power).

I meant to add: the autoidx.xsl stylesheet that comes with the DocBook XSL
stylesheets looks like a good place for me to start (I'd better brush up on
DocBook indexing tags, so I can make sense of the stylesheet).

But this looks like it will still require quite a learning curve for me to
adapt to my XHTML <meta> tags, so I'd appreciate any advice.
