If the platform that you are using supports using DLLs, you could try a call
to a PL/SQL subprogram with a registered external procedure. You could
access your Java classes from this external code and also use a different
transformer. It may or may not work for what you are doing, but it could be
an option to explore.

I have also had similar experiences in dealing with Oracle Support. You just
have to be persistent with them and eventually you will get to someone who
understands how to solve your problem.
