Deleting, Erasing or Hiding Tags

I have an XML document as follows:

<root>
	<a>text</a>
	<b>text</b>
	<c>text</c>
<root>


Can I erase, delete or hide (using XSL) the "b" and "c" tags without having
to change the schema or DTD?
