I think that in some cases they don't. I think we get a fair number of
questions from students who are not getting the help they need from
those who are paid to teach them.

I generally work on the basis that a short answer to a question is
better than no answer at all, but you're probably right that these
people need a 3-year computer science education, not a 3-line answer
from this list. Sigh.
