 If you're willing to spend a little money (not much, though), try Xselerator, which lets you use a number of XSLT processors, including Java-based processors like Xalan and Saxon (but supports MSXML natively). Its debugger does some nice tree walking when you're trying to manage XPath statements, and, well, I just like it. There's a free trial for it. I don't have any affiliation with them, just a satisfied user.
