The error message, if I recall, was something like a java reflection
InvocationTargetException. That suggested to me something like calling
an extension function that needed resources that weren't available for
some reason. But it was only a guess - empirically, if the same Java
program behaves differently on different platforms, it's usually a
configuration problem.
