<input type="checkbox" id="{@DetailId}"/>




   <xsl:if test="@Type = 'DropDown'"> 
     </select>
   </xsl:if>


XSLT has to be well formed XML, 
<fooo>
  </xxx>
</foo>
will not get past the XML parser so your stylesheet will not be seen at
all by the XSL:T system.
