I haven't seen that but did come across this article of interest:

The article shows a remarkable performance advantage for XML to HTML 
transformations versus Xalan.  I checked out the vendor site and it looks to 
be real as they have a UK financial services customer using it today.

Pretty nifty stuff.  Makes sense that transforms would eventually be done in 
hardware...
