Hi Michael, I am having the same problem as well and I did tried everything you all have suggested. My original problem was with lamda sign. Just for the sake of it, I tried the dagger symbol. Same result!!! Thanks Mathy Note: I learn more everyday by reading the xsl-list mail. One of the best lists! Michael Kay wrote: > > I do see the dagger symbol (†) in the xml file (using > > nodepad). Forget FOP: you need to solve the problem by ensuring that the actual encoding of the XML file and the encoding declared in its XML declaration are the same. > > Michael Kay > Software AG > home: Michael.H.Kay@xxxxxxxxxxxx > work: Michael.Kay@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
