beware that XSLT 1.1 was never standardised (and never will be) the
working group released one draft for comment then announced that they
had decided not to do 1.1 and would work instead on 2.0.

So a a couple of implementations implement that 1.1 _draft- and yes in
1.1 as in 2.0 you can do this. But 1.1 is an orphan draft with no
official standing.
