Just write:

<someName d="M {$x_offset} {$y_offset} v 73 a 2 2 0 1 1 -4 0 v -73 Z"/>


and the output will be as expected:

<someName d="M 0 0 v 73 a 2 2 0 1 1 -4 0 v -73 Z"/>
