i can try translate() function , but it requires to know what i want to translate and what i want to translate it to.In my case since i dont know what would be the text in the color ellement, I reckon translate() wouldnt be of much help . Wrong ;-) In XSLT 1.0 the only possibility is to tranlate all lower-case characters to the corresponding upper-case characters: <xsl:value-of select="translate($string, 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz', 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ')"/> Regards, Joerg -- System Development VIRBUS AG Fon +49(0)341-979-7411 Fax +49(0)341-979-7409 joerg.heinicke@xxxxxxxxx www.virbus.de XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
