one last note about case conversions if the case mappings exist, which they do in the form of Unicode mappings, my question was why not use them ???? doesnt take a rocket scientist to program...... the only problem which i acknowledge now, is that there are so many mappings that size becomes a problem. so the next step is to make sure every OS has Unicode libraries and mappings built in, and then have XSLT processers use the system libraries. oh well, cheers, jim fuller XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
