Note that the XML Schema REC defines a level of conformance which does _not_ require any knowledge about the XML representation of schemas in schema documents, so conformant processors don't necessarily have to do all the work involved in that (about 2/3rds of my XML Schema processor). I would certainly favour making it clearer in a subsequent W3C XML Schema version just how little you can get away with and still be conformant, which is presumably precisely what an XSLT 2.0 implementor would want to hear. ht -- Henry S.
