is the safest way.
name() will also work given your example, but be aware that name()
includes any namespace present by way of adding a prefix, and there
can be cases where this prefix isn't the one used in the input
document. In other words if your input document had <x:name/> then
name() might legally return 'y:name' if y mapped to the same namespace
URI as x. If you have Mike Kays book, this is explained in the
'Usage' bit of the name() function.
