<xsl:value-of> in javascript

Hello all,

I am trying to get the value of a number of parameters, as shown below:

onClick="callCart('fifthhtml=<xsl:value-of
select="$fifthhtml"/>','itemID=<xsl:value-of select="itemID"/>')

However, this format of <xsl:value-of ..> is not being accepted and there is
an error.
