RE: xsl:for-each and xsl:apply-templates

I need to wrap each child element.  Michael pointed out that the context 
switches to the child nodes in the loop, so I understand that they are not 
being ignored.  Here is a more concrete example:

xml source is:
<list>
  <link .../>
  <link .../>
  <link .../>
</list>

xsl template is:
<xsl:template match="list">
  <ul>
  <xsl:for-each select="link">
    <li>...I would like to invoke the link template here...does 
xsl:call-template work?...</li>
  </xsl:for-each>
  </ul>
</xsl:template>

I think the poster said child processing was the same, but if not better
to do
  <xsl:when test="parent::parent1">

than the above as a) it's quicker (to write and to execute) and b) it
works correctly in the presence of namespaces, which expressions
involving name() tend not to do.
