Also, there are some alternatives to FOP: Antenna House: http://www.antennahouse.com/ XEP, from RenderX: http://www.renderx.com/ PassiveTex: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~rahtz/passivetex/ Unicorn Formatting Objects: http://www.unicorn-enterprises.com/products_ufo.html Personally I use Antenna House and FOP. Antenna House is extremely easy to use and seems to implement the spec more completely, while FOP integrates well with the other Apache Java/XML projects. In addition to the XSL FAQ section that Jim mentions, there's a good FO introduction online at: http://www.ibiblio.org/xml/books/bible/updates/15.html Also, Brett McLaughlin has online a chapter from Java and XML that includes FOP/FO discussion at: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/javaxml/chapter/ch09.html HTH, Max www.siliconpublishing.org/ hello jon, u wanna take a look at the xsl:fo as u will use this to generate instructions that can then be translated to pdf using a FOP processor http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect3.html take a looksee at the FOP stuff at apache http://xml.apache.org/fop/index.html for the simple things its fairly easy once u have set up FOP processor, but learning xsl:fo is definately an investment. good luck, jim fuller XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
